# File IQ Volume Utilization Configuration

The Volume Utilization dashboard is a Premium dashboard that provides a hierarchical view of your volume’s folder structure, displaying up to three levels of depth from the most recent volume scan.

This guide provides the File IQ Volume Utilization configuration required to view this dashboard.

To configure the File IQ Volume Utilization dashboard, follow these steps.

1. Navigate to the File IQ UI.
2. Click the **Configuration**tab.
3. Click **Volume Utilization**.

4. Under **Actions**, click the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/2adf6ce2-c120-4520-b135-0fc4463ddde3/Images/Documentation/image-VU7HGEU7.png) icon.
5. Using the Volume Configuration pop-up box, enter a **Volume Label** and a **Volume Path**.

> ***Note:****The volume path lets you choose where volume utilization statistics begin being calculated. By default, this is set to “/”, meaning the calculation starts at the root of the volume and includes all contents.*
> 
> *Since the dashboard only displays up to three levels of folder depth, you can set a volume path other than “/” when a volume has a deeper folder structure. This allows calculations to start from the folder that contains the relevant data, rather than from the volume root.*

> ***Note****: The volume path returns an error if the path does not exist at the time the last scan was taken.*

6. Click **Save**.
