# NMC Login Page

The Nasuni Management Console user interface presents you with a Login page, where you log in using the username and password for the NMC administrative user.

You can log in and access the Nasuni Management Console user interface from any computer running a supported Web browser, including Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, and Google Chrome.

At the top of the Login page, you can access online help (see [“Viewing the Nasuni Management](/v1/docs/chapter-5-common-screen-elements#_bookmark295) [Console Help”](/v1/docs/chapter-5-common-screen-elements#_bookmark295)). You can also power down the system, if necessary (see [“Powering Down](/v1/docs/chapter-5-common-screen-elements#_bookmark307) [and Rebooting the Nasuni Management Console”](/v1/docs/chapter-5-common-screen-elements#_bookmark307)).

## Logging in to the Nasuni Management Console

After the Nasuni Management Console has been installed and registered on your network, you can log in to the Web-based Nasuni Management Console user interface from any computer running a supported Web browser, and perform management functions on Nasuni Edge Appliances.

See [“Installing the Nasuni Management Console”](/v1/docs/chapter-2-task-overview#_bookmark189) for details about installing the product.

> [!WARNING]
> *Important: For security reasons, if the IP address of your computer changes while you are logged in to the UI, the system logs you out. You must then log back in to access the UI. To disable this functionality, request Nasuni Support to disable the "Restrict Session IP" feature.*

> [!WARNING]
> *Important: It is not supported for users in the Active Directory Protected Users security group to log in to the NMC.*

> [!CAUTION]
> *Warning:****TOO MANY UNSUCCESSFUL LOGIN ATTEMPTS DISABLE THE LOGIN FOR 5 MINUTES. IF THIS HAPPENS, WAIT 5 MINUTES, THEN LOG IN WITH A CORRECT USERNAME AND PASSWORD.***

> [!TIP]
> *Tip: If you forget the password for the administrative user, see*[*“Resetting Administrative*](/v1/docs/nasuni-management-console-chapter-4-login-page#_bookmark273)**[*Account (Forgot password?)”*](/v1/docs/nasuni-management-console-chapter-4-login-page#_bookmark273)*.*

> [!TIP]
> *Tip: To access the NEA or NMC appliance using the**serial console, instead of using the IP address obtained when installing**the appliance, follow one of these procedures:*
>
> - *If the appliance is running on Amazon EC2, see instructions in*[*EC2 Serial Console for*](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-serial-console.html)**[*Linux instances*](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-serial-console.html)*.*
> - *If the appliance is running on**Google Cloud, see instructions in*[*Troubleshooting using*](https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/troubleshooting/troubleshooting-using-serial-console)**[*the serial console*](https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/troubleshooting/troubleshooting-using-serial-console)*.*
> - *If the appliance is running on**Microsoft Azure, see instructions in*[*Azure Serial Console*](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/virtual-machines/serial-console-overview)*.*
>
> *All supported hypervisors include a serial console that works with Nasuni. For other hypervisors, consult your vendor’s documentation for connection instructions.*

### Logging in with NMC Single Sign-On (SSO)

> [!TIP]
> *Tip: To configure**NMC Single Sign-On (SSO), see*[*“Single Sign-On (SSO)”*](/v1/docs/chapter-10-console-settings-page#_bookmark2487)*. For complete details about NMC Single Sign-On (SSO), see*[*NMC Single Sign-On (SSO)*](/v1/docs/nmc-single-sign-on-sso)*.*

If NMC Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled, to log in to the Nasuni Management Console, follow these steps:

1. Using your Web browser, enter the specified hostname for the Nasuni Management Console Home page. This hostname should match the value entered for the hostname portion of the Azure Application redirect URI that you configured when setting up SSO (such as `https:// nmc.domain.com`). The **Nasuni Management Console Login**page appears.

> [!WARNING]
> *Important: Logging out of the NMC does not log the user out of Microsoft Entra ID. The user must log out of Microsoft Entra ID separately.*

### Logging in without NMC Single Sign-On (SSO)

If NMC Single Sign-On (SSO) is not enabled, to log in to the Nasuni Management Console, follow these steps:

The IP address is provided during installation (see [“Connecting with the Nasuni Management Console”](/v1/docs/chapter-3-installing-the-nasuni-management-console#_bookmark215)). The **Nasuni Management Console Login**page appears.
