Most Nasuni Edge Appliance (NEA) use cases fit Google’s N2 standard machine series well. Virtual machines within the General Purpose type are available in every region, and provide a balanced and affordable CPU-to-memory ratio, while offering good IOPS performance and throughput for disks.
The following table lists current GCE virtual machine types that work well with Nasuni, and support local SSD disks that the NEA can use for the copy-on-write (COW) disk.
Type | Small | Medium | Large | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
n2-standard-8 COW: Persistent Disk | n2-standard-16 COW: NVME Local SSD | n2-standard-48 COW: NVME Local SSD | Intel VMs with flexible sizing |
