Overview
This chapter explains how to uninstall a Nasuni Edge Appliance or NMC from your supported platform. You might need to uninstall a Nasuni Edge Appliance or NMC if you are upgrading the system hardware.
Uninstalling a Nasuni Edge Appliance or NMC
Caution: When you uninstall a Nasuni Edge Appliance, all data in the cache is deleted.
Caution: Always shut down the NEA or NMC before shutting down the VM.
Caution: Do not reboot or power off the appliance during the first boot. After the first boot completes, you may reboot or power off the appliance as needed.
To uninstall a Nasuni Edge Appliance or NMC on a Microsoft Hyper-V platform:
Shut down the Nasuni Edge Appliance from your Web browser. See the section entitled “Shutting Down and Rebooting Nasuni Edge Appliance” in the Nasuni Edge Appliance Administration Guide for instructions.
In particular, perform the following steps:
Disconnect remote volumes.
Delete owned volumes.
Select the Nasuni Edge Appliance or NMC under Virtual Machines.
Right-click on the Nasuni Edge Appliance or NMC and select Turn off from the drop-down menu.
Right-click on the Nasuni Edge Appliance or NMC and select Delete from the drop-down menu. The virtual machine instance is deleted from the view.
Note: It might be necessary to manually delete the .
vhd
or .vhdx
files from the disk.
