Previewing Files

Prev Next

Previews enable users to view the contents of images, videos, audio files, and documents directly within a web browser. Users do not need to download these files and launch desktop applications to view their contents.

Previews appear in a separate display box. When the preview box appears, you can navigate to the next and previous files in the folder using the right and left arrows.

Audio and video previews include controls to start, pause, mute, unmute, adjust the volume, and display the video in full screen.

You can scroll forwards and backwards through multipage documents using your mouse scroll function.

If the file is in a format that the browser does not recognize, you are offered the option to download the file.

To open the preview, click the filename from within a directory listing. Use the < and > to move between different previews in the directory.
